ENGL 363: Essay #2

Fanon’s essay places a lot of emphasis on the importance of a “national culture” to a formerly colonized people.

In your view, why does he take this stance? Further, what role does literature play within a “national culture,” and why? Is literature always political in the global era? If not, whose interests are served by its NOT being seen as political?

Following the format on the syllabus, compose an essay addressing these question in which you cite from the Fanon and cite from at least three texts read from class.
