In conjunction with WCU’s Center for Service Learning, the final project for this course will be to design, construct, and carry out a community-based Maya books arts exhibit in Cashiers, where there is a sizable Maya community here in in NC. Individual students will be assigned a book/object at a later date, which they will then research and assume responsibility for in the exhibit. The professor will collaborate with students on this project, so do not be too anxious about it here at the beginning of the semester.
